Brand Purpose, Vision + Mission
The fair brings together galleries, artists, collectors and creative enthusiasts in a place that merges culture, nature, and technology.
Art & Bali was established on a foundation of connection, community, and global visibility of Indonesian art. Our core purpose is to serve as the premier gateway for contemporary art from the Global South, specifically showcasing the dynamism of Southeast Asian and Indonesian creativity to the world, utilizing Bali as a unique international hub.
Art & Bali is dedicated to fostering Bali’s vibrant art community, bringing together established masters, emerging artists, galleries, collectors, and patrons in a spirit of collaboration and growth. Crucially, the fair is committed to bridging the divide between technology and creativity, ensuring new media art finds its essential place and market within the global art world.
The mission is to make the art world inclusive and accessible, going against the stereotype that art is exclusive to a certain demographic. By actively connecting local communities with global artistic experiences, we strive to foster impactful engagements for diverse audiences.

Brand Positioning
Paired with Bali's rapid growth, the fair positions itself to nurture local artistic talent through its dedicated focus on traditional and new media art.
Amidst Indonesia's competitive art fair landscape—including ArtJakarta, ArtJog, and ArtMoments—Art & Bali stands apart by championing a blend of traditional and new media Indonesian art, which includes a conversation regarding AI. The fair is uniquely situated within Nuanu Creative City, a dynamic artistic and cultural destination that fosters creativity through existing initiatives like the Art Residency, Artists Open Call, and Culture Village (a workshop dedicated to learning and engaging in local craftsmanship).
These programs already feature collaborative, thought-provoking artworks and installations with international and local artisans of various media. Capitalizing on Bali's global appeal (with over 6.3 million tourists in 2024), Art & Bali will use a digital-first approach to reach a global audience and create awareness about the fair. This strategy is designed to reinforce Bali as a creative and innovation hub and ensure sustainable, long-term value for the local creative community.
Market Research & Findings
Deep dive into the emerging art market in Southeast Asia, what worked and what needed improvement.

The Southeast Asia art market is projected to see a 6.11% annual growth rate by 2033, a trend already supported by "solid sales" reported at ArtSG.

Art fairs strengthen and revitalize local areas and national creative economies, where it is often considered a second thought.

With the rise of young collectors, Indonesia is in a position to develop its market infrastructure and solidify its position as a central creative hub.

With surrounding art fairs, talking about AI or new media art and its integration into the creative industry is widely considered taboo.
Brand Identity
The fair focused on the theme of 'in betweenness'. How could we merge the traditional with the modern?

Jalak Bali
The logo pays homage to Bali’s national bird, admired for its creative instincts. This influence adds a narrative of artistry, freedom, and expressive character to the design.
God, Nature and Man
Inspired by Bali’s spiritual landscape, the logo reflects the island’s belief in living in harmony with nature. Its structure incorporates the five elements—earth, wind, fire, wood, and water—as a visual reminder of unity, flow, and mindful presence.
Ampersand (&)
Rooted in the idea of in-betweenness, the logo captures the meeting point of tradition, modern culture and various creative mediums. It acts as a connector, honouring Bali’s roots while opening pathways to global connection.
Design Assets

The colour palette revolves around the concept of 'in-betweenness" and the coexistence between the two concepts presented during the fair. Paired with Bali's iconic sunset and their roots in natural preservation and culture, the chosen colour palette best illustrates the fairs intended audience, while uplifting the Balinese culture.
In typography, the most important element is often what isn't there — the space between characters, between words, between lines. Art & Bali's type lives in that negative space. It breathes. It leaves room for the viewer to arrive at their own reading.
Just as the fair itself holds space for opposing ideas to coexist, commerce and culture, local and global, tradition and the contemporary, the typography holds the frame and everything else fills it.
How Its Communicated?
A fair where opposites collaborate
Some things aren't meant to be kept apart.
Art and commerce. Local and global. The intimate and the monumental. The ancient island and the contemporary world.
Art & Bali places Indonesia at the centre of an international conversation about what contemporary art is for — whom it belongs to, what it's worth, and where it's going. Bali becomes more than a backdrop. It becomes a participant.
Art & Bali is an invitation to connect, collaborate and shape a growing art ecosystem in Bali. It’s about rethinking how art circulates here, building a fair rooted in Bali’s traditions of exchange while opening space for new relationships between artists, collectors and communities. The hope is that people leave feeling Bali has expanded what an art fair can feel like.
